Calculating structural loads in Archicad is the highlight? Should all engineers start buying Archicad and learn how to work? Doesn't this sound familiar with the Autodesk family? Today I got a feeling that Graphisoft was shifting its strategy more to another spectrum of an audience, respectively Structural and Mechanical Engineers. That is why it got the status of the leader in openBIM. Right? Back in the good days, Graphisoft had a clear strategy: Teamwork, Interoperability, Performance, openBIM. Many of you, working with big projects, are familiar with the effort of dealing with Attributes between Teamwork files. I even wrote a 5-page proposal with a detailed implementation and UI graphics about managing Attributes in Archicad, especially in BIMcloud and Teamwork. Since then, I have proposed many improvements for a more efficient usability of the program. Personally, I am an Archicad user since year 2000 and have been constantly following all possible improvements since Archicad 6.0. My question at that moment was: are these really the wishes of the clients? On the other hand, the presented Road Map, was very general and in parts also repeating itself of what actually Graphisoft is planing to do. The advantages that I could identify were merely as improvements of previous Archicad versions. Sadly, I did not see that message today in the presentation. Maybe I was expecting a big celebration from Graphisoft with the introduction of super amazing options in the release of version 26?! Maybe my expectations were that Archicad 26 is going to be the best so far version in many years. This year, Graphisoft is celebrating its 40th anniversary. In the end of the presentation, I was left speechless! Apart from the breaking connection and hate messages going on in the chat, I was coping to understand the message from Graphisoft. Today was the launch of Archicad 26, streamed online from Budapest.
